Dr Hum graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 1997 and has specialist accreditation in both Geriatric and Palliative Medicine.

Dr Hum is currently a Senior Consultant with the Department of Palliative Medicine in Tan Tock Seng Hospital. Her research interests are in palliative care in advanced dementia, prognostication at the end of life, cancer pain and integration of care.

She has 7 representative publications regarding palliative care and has also received awards for her abstracts and posters during the 2017 Asia Pacific Hospice Conference. Furthermore, as Principial Investigator of various research projects, she has also been awarded several grants totaling to over $2 million.
