As Singapore moves towards the pursuit of being a smart nation, hard-copy paper documents has been replaced by electronic medi- cal records to pave the way for healthcare providers to transit into the IT era. The online clinical and healthcare management systems provide healthcare workers with quick access to the latest updated medical records. With harmonised workflows, healthcare providers are able to record content in a more cohesive and efficient manner, which in turn, enable improved sharing of healthcare data during transition across institutions. This wealth of data also allows relevant decision makers to utilise analytic tools to predict certain healthcare parameters, indices, and outcomes.
Despite the technological advancement in healthcare systems, face-to-face communication among healthcare providers, patients and caregivers remain essential in delivering quality care. Join us at this enriching webinar to gain insights from our speakers as they share how technology provides advantages while posing some challenges when caring for older patients and the options of medi- cal interactions matter when it comes to care of the older person.
Jointly organised by Ageing Research Institute for Society and Education (ARISE) and Geriatric Education and Research Institute (GERI), this webinar is part of the Knowledge and Practice Series (KPS) to disseminate research evidence of the projects under the ARISE-GERI Research Collaboration.
The Knowledge to Practice Series is conducted regularly by GERI, as a knowledge translation platform that brings together various stakeholders, to share research findings and exchange knowledge, in order to enhance eldercare practice and policy formulation.
