With the evolving landscape of our ageing population, the Ministerial Committee on Ageing introduced a refreshed Action Plan for Successful Ageing in 2023, which is represented by Age Well SG (ASG). This is a reflection of a deeper understanding of the diverse experiences, aspirations, and needs of today’s seniors, ensuring that our initiatives remain relevant and impactful.
The refreshed Action Plan is anchored in three essential themes: Care, Contribution, and Connectedness, collectively known as the ‘3Cs’. It is vital for community partners to collaborate closely in implementing services and healthcare programs that aim to extend their healthspan and empower them to age in place with purpose and meaning.
This webinar aims to bring together researchers, policymakers, opinion leaders, and various stakeholders who will share their thoughts and discuss research findings of the Geriatric Education and Research Institute (GERI) and its partners, and how these will impact policies related to the ASG programme. Utilising an implementation science approach, the research on frailty, Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment, and exercise interventions in the community, among others, will be showcased.
The KPS webinar is conducted regularly by GERI, as a knowledge translation initiative that brings together various stakeholders, to share research findings and exchange knowledge, to enhance eldercare practice and policy formulation. This event is organised by GERI, in collaboration with the Chapter of Geriatricians and Society for Geriatric Medicine (Singapore).
